The Kocaeli Chamber of Commerce (KCC) organised the Germany Country Day & Trade and Investment Opportunities Seminar to inform members and businesspeople about opportunities for economic co-operation in the Germany.
Turkish- German Chamber of Commerce and Industry Secretary General Okan Özoğlu attended the event which was organized and hosted by Murat Barış, a vice chairman of the KCC Board. The event drew a large number of businesspeople.
Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Murat Barış, the vice chairman of the KCC Board, " As you know, our exports reached a new record level of 254.2 billion in 2022. We aim to increase this figure even more in 2023, by continuing our export-oriented works with stability. In this respect, Germany has very important opportunities. Germany-Turkey's first partner in exports and 4th in imports. Our hope is to further increase the trade volume. Because our business people from Kocaeli are competent and experienced to exceed this rate.” said Barış.
TD- IHK Secretary General Özoğlu said, “The Turkish-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry started its activities in 2004 for the development of trade between the two countries. It is our primary duty to attract investors from Germany to Turkey, and to ensure a healthy path for companies that want to come to Germany from Turkey. Germany is Turkey's largest trading partner. It has not been announced yet, but in 2022, it seems that bilateral trade has crossed the 40 billion Euro limit. The German market is the most important market in terms of continuity. Turkish companies, especially automotive, machinery and textile, are doing important work here. Turkish companies have a competitive power with their quality. The only problem is that it is Made in Turkey. Compared to your country's brand power, Germany's brand power is greater. I especially recommend Made in Germany to Turkish companies that want to expand into Germany.
